@gsuberland@kemotep RAID6 adds even more IO to disk writes than RAID5, meaning a significant performance penalty and added stress. Like, if you're mostly reading static files and have good backups, sure, knock yourself out, but not ideal for production storage with regular write transactions, and especially relational databases.
