@jpm I've not seen those before; do they work well? I'm intrigued by the idea that it can charge up off the weak battery in the car.

@0x33 I don’t have this particular one so I can’t comment on how well it might work in the dead-battery case. The last few “dead” car batteries I’ve had have had a single internal cell failure so the battery could only put out about 9-10V at full charge, but still plenty of current. My guess is that this thing is designed to limit the input current into a voltage boost circuit, so the higher the input voltage at the current limit then the faster it will “charge” - which is why they say half an hour from USB (5V)
