We haven't seen these kinds of numbers in decades. @MondayMarionJ it ended up being a G5 solar storm!!! That why the auroras were so bright in both hemispheres. And the subspot that caused it isn't going away any time soon. I wonder if Tae might have gotten to see the auroras? His bucketlist is so similar to mine. 🤗
@MondayMarionJ I've heard they are fickle as hell and come in waves. Maybe it was a lull in the cycle as it passed over? 🤷🏻♀️ what's interesting is the amount of red in them, usually they are more green but the sky was on fire with red ones too which seemed to more prominent. Looking at the pictures and having serious post storm FOMO. 😭
