The people who are always like "my body knows best" when it comes to health stuff crack me up. Like, my body spontaneously decided that the deodorant I had been using for years was suddenly bad for me so I broke out in hives after using it. My body is fucking stupid.
I feel like a good metaphor is the immune system is like an overly reactive guard dog. Yeah, the dog is going to bark if somebody's trying to break into the house, but it also hates our neighbor Craig for no particular reason.
