@Skepticat a very long long time ago when i was an undergrad at a very large university and drove an early 80s GM car I went out to the parking lot, unlocked my car with the key, started it... then realized... IT WAS NOT MY CAR it was just one that LOOKED like it.
@Skepticat
I did this once EXCEPT MY KEY FIT THE CAR DOOR!
I was so totally freaked out because when I opened the car, I was like "who's been in my car?" as I looked at all this stuff that wasn't mine! Then I realized it was not my car.
I worked with the person so reached out and told her that our keys actually matched and that I was in her car (awkwardly).
@Waitnwallflower
Wow! I can't believe it unlocked for you.
Anyway, it's a weird feeling.
I felt so stupid because I stood there, trying, forever!
Gawd.
@Skepticat
😂 I get it because now fast forward, years later, I haven't used an actual key in forever...my fob battery died and I stood there for a while perplexed about how I was going to possibly get in my car.
(We're so spoiled.) Sometimes I start thinking about how I might cope if my microwave went out. It's something I've always known. How did people reheat coffee lol
@Waitnwallflower@Skepticat I had a 1992 Chevy Silverado that it's key barrel got so bad, you could use anything to unlock it. I once opened it with the prong of an extension cord.
