I’ve seen a few people complaining about JPN bread lately

imo the bagged stuff at the store isn’t great but its passable, and better than US white bread. The Shoku-pan at bakeries is really good for a lot of things.

I think the problem isn’t so much that Japanese bread is bad per se, but that its hard to find the hardier European style loaves 🍞

@FlockOfCats @imabuddha There's a lot of French bakeries but they're more boulange / patissier style (I have no idea how to spell French words). The funny thing is that with the government rice flour initiative, it's easier to lean into the more hardy breads imo.
