  2. i watched the video of Sandy in Japan doing a racism. That doesn’t mean I want more Sandy in Japan videos
  3. I don’t need Japan Tips™️ from influencers who are in Tokyo for 2 weeks (I know Donki sells random shit and you can do <random task> at the combini)
  4. Seriously, I can only handle so many “<name> in Japan” videos. Stop. Please.

@FlockOfCats @imabuddha There's a lot of French bakeries but they're more boulange / patissier style (I have no idea how to spell French words). The funny thing is that with the government rice flour initiative, it's easier to lean into the more hardy breads imo.

i'm sofa king™ sick of eating the same hospital food over and over and over again, but i'm also glad that they've made me yōshoku ＊alllmost＊ every day, so i'm not going to complain (too much 😅)

@kawasemi @mangotable @scoutie I full on agree about ketchup inferiority. The Kagome packs are okay in a pinch and you don't have to measure anything.
For bona fide tomato paste, I'm keeping an eye out and will report back.
(I don't use tomato paste too often except Spanish rice, and I always burn it 😅)

Made a belated birthday cake for Ms. FoC.

Turned out perfect….under the whipped cream there was a dark brown, almost black crust and a soft, gooey, medium rare interior!

@FlockOfCats I haven't made a cake in mine yet (I have one too) but 230° might be too hot... that seems more like a roasting temperature. You can try putting it in the middle if it has a rack but you'll have to put some aluminum foil on the top. Wondering if I should consult Cooking with Dog since they made cakes in a similar oven

@rdviii @FlockOfCats that's what I thought too! Sadly they're not within walking distance in my neighborhood. (In the US, all of this was in my neighborhood. The Italian neighborhood became the Mexican & Vietnamese neighborhood. I was very spoiled.)
