Look, this is my doomer side speaking, but kinda getting the feeling that Mastodon and Bluesky were Rosencrantz and Gildenstern; Threads is Fortinbras and he just walked onstage, stepping over the slowly cooling body of Elon Musk.
@Theblueone I guess at the very least this is an experiment; and on some level a replication experiment of what went down with the idea of “the web” 20 years ago. We are gonna learn a lot about why things work the way they do any a year from now.

Also, the craze will settle. (It’s dizzying there, for me it’s same as Instagram, giving me motion sickness) - insta ppl meet Twitter ppl and.. not sure, will wait.
Cautiously I can say I made this here “home” now.
They’re still a company, ppl getting fed up. They can be the influencer/brand town, and we can get the people eventually. Will see. I’m less meh today.
@boby_biq I always used Instagram - used it before Zuckerberg bought it. But I curated it & used it just for my guitar interests. All my guitar people were there. Good for that. Twitter was for news, politics, culture, science weird stuff, and the occasional shitpost.
Not sure we can ever replicate what Twitter actually did. It was too odd to live anymore.
That said, the Fediverse will be my homebase - but I now see Meta/Threads as an existential threat to it more than I did yesterday.
