What's a common occurrence in your story that would be odd here?
Smoking. The social norms & expectations around this have changed so much in my lifetime that it really does feel quite alien at times when writing early 20th century set stories.
IIRC, when revising the WW2 part of the story pre-publication, I ended up buying myself some of those sugary stick sweets that we used to call cigarettes when I was a kid 😆
