I haven't been on #Reddit for a while, but here's a helpful tip for anyone who's thinking about participating in their IPO.
Reddit claims to be "the front page of the internet," like the Forum Romanum of our day. This claim is false, and easily disproven. If you want to see the TRUE face of reddit, look at the posting/comment history of the AutoModerator account.
What you see on reddit's front page is a veil. The REAL reddit is bots, scams, porn, and no small amount of hate.
@Legit_Spaghetti The big subs are just empty shells nowadays. They have millions of subscribers, but then there are threads with like 20 comments on the frontpage in a day old thread. Maybe my memory is just bad, but I remember the participation rate being much higher
@Neblib@Legit_Spaghetti Yeah, many smaller subs and like big sports subs are still very active. It's not rare for big sports subs to have over 1000 comments in a thread. But then there's something like r/space which has 25M subscribers and barely any comments in threads.
@Legit_Spaghetti One of the nice things about Reddit is that you can see every new post if you'd like to because submission IDs are sequential. Doing this reveals just how much spam and porn there is, it's pretty incredible
