Sul punto non ho un'opinione forte: una comunità riceve ospitalità gratuita, ma quel gratis per altri ha un costo e il corrispettivo, in questo caso, èciò ciascuno ha scritto e che, una volta pubblicato, ha smesso di appartenergli.

Probabilmente a breve su mastodon sarà possibile impostare account e istanza per escluderli dall'uso di IA così come è possibile escludere l'indicizzazione dai motori di ricerca. @GualTRex
@LA9306 it's someone mass-reporting everything posted to the DT. They might use a script or bot for efficiency, but there is no automated systems made by the mods or admins that send these out

Leggendo il libro Aggiustare il mondo di Giovanni Ziccardi ho scoperto che inizialmente Reddit fu concepito in Common Lisp e che in una fase successiva, su suggerimento di Aron, fu riscritto in Python per vari motivi.
Facendo delle ricerche, ho trovato il repo con il codice e anche il post degli sviluppatori in cui argomentano questa scelta. Molto interessante!

@nf3xn Thank you. I can’t blame these two users. Basically yet another Semrush user posted the usual misinformation drivel about me, but this time to Reddit (all in an effort to please Google). These two took exception (as did many others) without realizing that I am the victim, not the instigator. I would love to know who that is.

Enjoying this #Reddit thread where they pontificate about how online video needs competition, but it costs too much to do it.
I've been running tilvids.com for almost four years now on mostly community donations. The problem isn't the cost, it's the fact that every creator thinks they're the next Mr. Beast and just one video away from being a millionaire, and viewers are complacent.
We could all easily collectively decide to change this at any time.
@mamus Some PeerTube creators do have a donate button! That said, the donate button doesn't directly donate, it takes you to the page of their choice, so not necessarily frictionless.
@mms old.reddit.com usually let's you bypass that crap for now, but yeah totally agree. Hopefully the migration continues to the threadiverse as Reddit gets further enshittified post IPO.

I wonder what going public will mean for Reddit's nsfw communities. How long it's going to take until investor pressure forces them to crack down and bully or outright ban nsfw subreddits one by one.
Reddit is somewhat unique in that it's one of the largest remaining sites, or perhaps the largest since the Tumblr nsfw purge, that are fine with nsfw content and that recruit a considerable share of their users via nsfw content.
@amberage@JonChevreau It’s a race between that and some non consensual nude photos from one of those communities turning up in the training data of whatever AI Reddit is selling its content to these days.
@amberage@JonChevreau I think there is a nonzero chance that some kind of horrible thing is going to turn up in an AI that Reddit is now a content farm for - that’s part of the basis of it going public after all - and it will be traced back to Reddit and make a huge mess.
After all the site depends on the free labor of volunteer moderators who have a lot of discretion, and some of them abuse it.
