I feel like this claim is easily disproven by the fact that the API has username password authentication. If it was only designed for only enhancement they would have strictly made token based auth that you can only access from a mod panel.
If you didn’t want reddit users to authenticate on an external platform, you wouldn’t have made that capability.
No point in getting mad anymore. Dumb-dumb's already said he'll be profit driven until he gets money. This just proves it's at the expense of the users. Reddit's just going to get worse.
I don't know how the fuck they can't be profitable with all that free labor they're receiving from the mods. Facebook and Twitter spend millions upon millions of dollars every year paying moderators to keep their sites in line.

Wouldn't surprise me. New Reddit site is so horribly optimized that it constantly brings the browser to it's knees. And all it does it display simple text and images. You can't get a more simple concept than Reddit. Yet for some reason, they can't manage to load a modal without needing a fucking super computer to run it. I doubt their ability to produce a mobile app.
Same talking points from the AMA. Nothing new here. He's just a mouth piece. The other interview with the Apollo dev was more interesting. The verge says more of the interview is coming but I can't see why they held back except that it probably doesn't have much either and they just want more clicks.
