@BreadDog Myself and @moar_salt created r/kbin and it hasn't been banned yet. Check it out and spread the word! I deleted my moderator account to it but can assist where needed.
does anyone know what information the guide contained? all I did when I signed up was click "Register" and create an account. is there anything I'm missing out on, or extra steps that I should take?
So far what I've done apart from registering is subscribing to the large communities on Lemmy that I'm interested in, you can find them here https://lemmy.ml/communities/listing_type/All/page/1
For example you can subscribe these communities just by searching them on kbin like this @gaming@beehaw.org.
However it seems like the kbin feed is already doing a good job at showing popular lemmy communities.
From what I remember, I don’t think there were any extra steps besides registering. The guide did go into detail explaining what kbin.social is for those looking for alternatives for reddit.
This wild banning of subreddits that promote alternatives to reddit is likely to push a lot of people to leave who may have been on the fence about staying on reddit
If you haven't done it, go back and delete your posts and comments. Reddit needs your content, without its users providing content and moderation Reddit is done.
Is there any way of downloading / exporting my comments? I know it sounds daft, but there's some of my early posts about personal stuff that I'd like to keep. I couldn't find anything in my account settings (first time I'd logged on to the actual website in a long time ha)
That's already happening. People are mentioning kbin, lemmy, and tildes pretty regularly. A few others have tossed their sites in as well. It's going to get passed around one way or another.
