Oh that moment whenever someone says "Alcohol is no solution" I feel how my innerself is trembling until a l hear screaming myself: "But alcohol is a solution".
So first if you talk about the topic of alcohol (as a beverage) it is a solution.
Also there is hardly anything that is 100% pure alcohol, so alcohol is almost always treated as a solution in chemistry.
But you are not wrong either. 100% pure alcohol is a solvent.
