This cat is so underrated.

His story is mind blowing too. Imagine being at the top of the jazz game and then getting sent up for narcotics and sitting out the entire 1960s in a jail cell.

On to the blues…

Zoom in on this crowd that was there when Woodstock gave Muddy Waters the key to the city in 1975.

It seems to me that the hippies of the 70s valued diversity in a way that is lost today. Like actually in practice.

Especially when you look at the make up of so many of the musical groups of the era.

It’s lost because those hippies realised they could get richer and more powerful if they torched it. You’re talking about American Baby Boomers.

@simongarlick @markmetz @vinylrecords the hippies are the biggest failures in the history of civilization.
It is not something that can be argued. When the majority of the most recognized “leaders” of your movement (the ones that survived) say it, well, that’s a pretty big failure. ALL OF THEM SOLD OUT. Each and every one of them.
