naturalgasbad,

In January 2021, the Trump administration designated Ansarallah as a terrorist organization.

In February 2021, the Biden administration removed Ansarallah’s terrorist designation.

In January 2024, five months after releasing a statement “Welcoming Talks in Saudi Arabia Advancing Yemen’s Peace Process”, the Biden administration again designated Ansarallah as a terrorist organization.

In the meantime, the UN brokered a ceasefire between Yemen and Saudi Arabia in April 2022, China brokered a rapprochement between Saudi Arabia and Iran in March 2023, and peace talks are actively ongoing between Saudi Arabia and Yemen through Oman.

The Biden Trump admin. re-designated Cuba as a terrorist state, which the Obama admin. had removed. These designations mean nothing in earnest. They’re just weapons of imperialist power.

Crikeste,

It is another reason to NOT vote for Biden though. ☺️

naturalgasbad,

Doesn’t this also make the Union a terrorist organization? Are blockades terrorism?

naturalgasbad,

And thus not terrorism

Sumpfkraut,

Why do you think the two are exclusive?

naturalgasbad,

Otherwise the US would be considered a terrorist state, and it’s obviously not

NoneOfUrBusiness,

In the modern day terrorism is basically warfare done by people you don't like, so in that case yeah it is terrorism.

Kolrami,

The Trump admin, not Biden’s did that according to your link.

Thanks—fixed. Biden can undo it anytime he wants…

Biden lifted some restrictions, but otherwise yes. I had forgotten that Bob Menendez was opposed to this before I read this article. He doesn’t exactly have political capital to make statements anymore.
