You can’t buy one yet, but the first Intel Core Ultra#ChromeOS laptop has made an appearance. It’s the #Asus ExpertBook CX54 #Chromebook Plus that we learned about last month and it looks fantastic in this video sneak peek.
2023 was the year I switched to Mint Mobile from Verizon and to an Asus Zenfone after being a longtime Samsung user. I had been a consistent Verizon user since 2007. I'm happy with both moves.
🆕 post -- Here are the Asus Chromebook CM30 tablet details
Back in November, I reported that a new #ChromeOS tablet was on the way. I knew it was going to be the Asus Chromebook CM30 (CM3001), a follow-up to the company’s CM3 detachable tablet. Other than a few other details, such as a chipset upgrade, little else was known. Now, the #Asus#Chromebook CM30 tablet details are fully available online.
Battling #Asus. The program that kept crashing my system, and I got rid of, reinstalled itself and crashed my system again. Yes, I have tried to remove it the Control Panel way and yes, I have run Asus’s own removal tool. Once again, software that does not work as promised, and removal software from the same manufacturer that does not work as promised.
So, #Netflix finally stopped letting me connect with my #Asus#Chromebit, updates for which stopped happening about a year ago. #RakutenViki stopped letting me play video about a month after its support was dropped. Sad, because it works perfectly fine as a web browser, TV streaming device. 😞
Oddly, these sold for $60-95 when new, but now are listed as $400 on some sites for some odd reason. Why is that?
I've just learned that #NVIDIA and #AMD are both American, for some reason I've always thought they were Taiwanese like a lot of the other PC components manufacturers such as #ASUS, #ASRock, and #MSI. That's kind of mind-boggling lol.

I don't know why, but when I close my laptop lid to put it to sleep there's about a 50% chance that it won't wake up again when I open it (when this happens, the power light remains on when the lid is closed, so I suspect it is actually not successfully going to sleep and just getting stuck somewhere).
What confuses me most is how this behaviour isn't consistent (although I have found that some things make it more likely to happen, like having a streaming service open)
Kind of odd that for all the years I had a #Samsung curved glass screen, I never really used the "edge" features. Now that I've switched to an #Asus phone, I use the "Edge Tool" all the time - mainly for quickly pulling up an MFA app when logging into an app or website since it draws over the current screen, saving me several steps every time. It makes MFA much less tedious on #Android.
