: Of , mostly only locks, fittings or door knockers have survived. Thanks to the wealth of Roman imagery, there are depictions of doors, such as the one on a fresco from the villa of Publius Fannius Synistor/Boscoreale.

Now at the Metropolitan Museum.
Dating 50/40 BC.
