17 Apr 1654: St John Lloyd of #Brecon is sent home to #Wales from #Ghent#otd He ministered on the Glamorgan-Monmouthshire border area. Executed with St Phlip Evans at #Cardiff in July 1679 (eebo/Therese Wynn-Davies)
Meanwhile in #Wales, a new version of the deposit-return model for bottles is being tried out in #Brecon... its such a simple way of encouraging recycling.
When I was a child in #London, a good way of supplementing your pocket money was finding bottles to return for the deposit... perhaps a new generation will do so too (and it'll get them out of the house).
The 120 black and white photographs in the book mainly cover the Brecon to Newport railway line when it was operated by the Great Western and later British Railways.
Along with the images, each location is placed in context using contemporary OS maps and informative annotations.
