A new, intimate exhibition at the National Museum Cardiff showcases how various artists — including van Gogh, Rembrandt, Brenda Chamberlain, and Francis Bacon — have approached the task of depicting themselves in their work.
“Art of the Selfie” is on view through January 26, 2025.

Car free vacations can be a challenge, for example visiting Castell Coch. The bus to Tongwynlais from Cardiff only gets you so close. So… after crossing 3 tricky round-abouts the trail begins gently. With no blaze or arrow to guide you where to turn as it starts up rather steeply. Look for stone steps that may be a retaining wall. I have certainly seen better maintained trails, but in the end it was a nice hike with a view suitable for an attacking army.
