That's more than the total consumption of #Ukraine 🇺🇦 (~134 Twh per year)
Whether it's a distrust in the technology or ethical concerns, most tech folks I know are anti-crypto. Many assume it will fizzle out on its own, so they don't speak out about it, but Decentralized Finance keeps getting massive investor $$$
I think the silence from our community is allowing the DeFi sector to spiral out of control just like the predatory loans that led to the Financial Crisis of '08.
What is the most constructive way to discourage folks from working/participating in DeFi?
If you were talking to someone who was working in the subprime mortgage business in 2006 or 2007, what would you say to them to get them to leave the industry? Would you try to make them feel shame? Would you drop a bunch of links? What is the most constructive thing you can do to make it harder for these scams to exist? #cryptoskeptic
