I’ve been pining for #Ginew’s Thunderbird Jacket since I first discovered the brand in 2021. It was the last denim jacket I specifically wanted in my wardrobe and the price was right. Rare to see this one on sale, and they had it in medium!
This is one of Ginew’s “flagship” jackets and it shows. The craftsmanship on my other Ginew jacket’s great, but this is on another level. The material quality is truly top-notch and everything’s assembled with gorgeous sewing patters.
I ended up with four new pairs of raw denim(-ish) jeans yesterday. I bought a couple pairs that I’ve been looking at and when I told Jayden, she freaked out because she also bought me two pairs of the same jeans yesterday — and got them tailored to my size.
They’re Uniqlo’s “Stretch Selvedge Slim-Fit Jeans” and they’re made of 99% cotton & 1% stretch material. The fabric and stitching seem to be excellent at first glance. The stretch will def make the break-in period more comfortable.
Oh yeah, I’ve turned the corner and the jacket has come to life. One of my favorite things about sewing is how tactile it is during the creation process. This one is fun! The heavy quilted cloth puts up a good fight, and this pattern is drawn with very tight 3/8” seam allowance. But I got the sleeves set, and the collar clipped within an inch of its life and then hand basted, and that’s enough to take a picture and put it away for the night.#sewing#denim
