Last episode of Dopesick watched. Absolutely shocking and sickening. That follows seeing Pain Killer, both excellent series you should watch about the American opioid epidemic and one company and one family's involvement in creating it.
About to watch #Dopesick after a long time of being unable to bring myself to face this. I work amongst some of the very people who are a result of this travesty.
The fact that they just passed criminalization of opioid open use in Seattle while Purdue heads roam free with a slap on the wrist makes me so absolutely rage-filled.
Just watching this series is making me anxious. Knowing what they did...all to avoid loss of profit.
And we do not prosecute the right people.
The fact that this country is afraid to go after exploitation profiteers is sad. Not just afraid to go after them, they jump over backwards to protect them.
