Hi, @robb, I'm fiddling with #EchoFeed and I may have tripped over a bug.

I'm trying to connect my headlines RSS feed at https://starbreaker.org/feeds/headlines.xml, which appears to be valid (https://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=https%3A%2F%2Fstarbreaker.org%2Ffeeds%2Fheadlines.xml), but instead of {{ summary }} grabbing the contents of the <description> element it ends up blank.

Has anybody else reported this?

The clunky, hacked together snippet of code I was using for crossposting to Mastodon has been replaced with #EchoFeed. What a difference. It's was so simple to set up and it literally just works. Cannot recommend it enough if you're crossposting.

Well, I would have assumed that #EchoFeed would have cross-posted my first #WeblogPoMo2024 entry by now. Pro account; Swapped the xml rss for a json feed on my 11ty blog; Nothing doing yet on the echofeed dashboard.

Maybe I've got something else wrong? I hate to ask @robb for something that should seem so simple - perhaps I'm just impatient?

Added a simple "crossposting" screen in your #scribbles blog settings to copy your feed URL's or add straight to #EchoFeed using the button.

Oh and yes... surprise! Category specific RSS feeds are in there for at least a week 😜

Needs a bit of TLC, but am happy.

I’ve had to disable #EchoFeed posting temporarily while I look into a duplication issue that seems to be affecting a bunch of accounts.

It's been a week since #EchoFeed launched and we're about to hit 800 posts!

Some new features in the past week:

• 🔨 Manage unused feeds and services from the dashboard
• #️⃣ Mastodon hashtags no longer echo as html links
• 📷 Flickr images get switched to the large version
• ✨ Images now include alt text if available
• 👀 There's loads more coming soon to improve customising Echoes

So sorry to everyone who posted about #EchoFeed having 500 posts - I pushed some testing code to production by accident, this is fixed now.

✨ Tags are now supported on Atom feeds (hi #scribbles folks)
✨ Variables now insert at the cursor not at the end (@esamecar)
🐛 Mastodon tag links are no longer included in content:plain (@jonnypencils)
