Rural red USA is shooting themselves in the foot and our children in their heads by allowing themselves to get tricked by the #FossilFools into banning these clean energy projects in their communities.
"At the end of the nearly two-hour hearing, all three county commissioners said that their opinions on the potential economic benefit of solar didn’t matter because they would vote the way their residents wanted them to: in favor of the ban."
@TonyStark
And why do they think that they should broadcast their opinions before educating themselves? Regrettably, his op-ed was filled with so many of the #FossilFools gaslighting tropes that it seems he "Did his own research" though to be fair I suppose. 😢
@alfredo_liberal
Even at a high estimate of five feet of SLR by 2050, that would result in less than 10% land area loss in Florida if I'm not mistaken so that in no way supports your assertion that "Florida will vanish" in the few years it would take to rid their government of the #FossilFools.

Oh, I'm glad I saw your post. In related news, the Vermont senate just overruled the veto of the Republican governor's attempt to protect the #FossilFools
In short, as I understand it from short radio blurb is that they passed a law to EXAMINE the impact of instituting a tariff on imported fossil fuels that would mitigate the greenhouse gases those hydrocarbons would produce. The GOP governor vetoed it as we should expect from them.
Alabama has passed a law meant to outlaw any effects of the plan. The legislatures of Kansas, New Hampshire and Tennessee all passed state resolutions condemning it.
