I exported my Mastodon account for safe keeping and realised I have no idea how to open or convert JSON files into something minimally readable. I would love to be able to read the export, at the very least, as a list of posts. I did a quick search and found some options that required running command lines in Terminal, but I haven't used this kind of stuff in years and I am afraid I will break something. (I feel like a freakin' granma 😂) Does anyone know of a simple tool I can use for this effect? Thank you! #Mastodon#MastodonArchive
I think the way mastodon handles hashtags is the most puzzling of the things I find puzzling as a longtime user. I would expect if I click on a hashtag I'd see all the non-locked content visible to me with that hashtag. But it doesn't include "unlisted" posts. I assume this means the hashtag display is generated via federated timelines, so it only pulls in posts are made available for federation (i.e. listed).
