I haven't finished my first BG3 playthrough in Storyteller Mode, but last night I went ahead and started a new Balanced Mode playthrough with a wood elf druid (named Matango 🍄) where I actually, like, know what I'm doing. Because I sure did not know what I was doing the first time. Also I may be a little heartbroken that I messed up getting into Karlach's good graces soon enough my first time through. #BaldursGate3#bg3#Matango
Noting for the record that this movie, Matango, was NOT the all time champion of my personal WTF Did I Just Watch list. That honor is still held by Death Bed: The Bed That Eats.

#Monsterdon#Matango After Captain Pipes eats the mushrooms, we see the lights of zetar appear and then get a flashback of a girl of Nightlife where a girl in a bikini is dancing erotically, followed by... more bikini girls.
So I guess eat mushrooms, see bikini girls. Also, it turns you into a mushroom person also. Somehow. That's why there are no mirrors on the Scientific Sailboat.
Captain Pipes is now Very Scared as he is surrounded by mushroom people who all laugh at him.
#Monsterdon#Matango While all this dumb shit was happening, I guess the Actual Captain, who before had seemed pretty responsible, stole the HIJMS Venture Capital and tried to run off. But the boat was lonely so it came back.
We board the boat to find that the Actual Captain abandoned it and wrote that he and everybody else died on the walls of his sailboat, because he wanted to have a weird suicide I guess.
#Monsterdon#Matango On the Scientific Sailboat, Shy Girl wants to eat the mushrooms now, but Psychology Boyfriend advises against this because he prefers non-shroomy women, and slaps her to give the audience mixed signals. His plan is for them to escape on the HIJMS Venture Capital.
Then the mushroom people go full zombie for no reason and try to break into the room they're hanging out in via every possible boat orifice and Psychology Boyfriend shoots them then chases so he can get ambushed.

I wonder if Shy Girl will see scantily clad boys doing a Moulin Rouge performance when they feed her the evil mushrooms?
#Monsterdon#Matango Psychology Boyfriend finds Shy Girl eating the mushrooms. Unfortunately for gender balance, we do not see any circus twinks doing a bond intro. Annoyed, Psychology Boyfriend is attacked by mushroom people, who by now look like just bundles of mushrooms with arms and legs.
He then swims off to the boat so he can return to Japan and be hospitalized in a mental institution.
