Here’s an out there theory.

First, fibro, ME/CFS, and other #PostInfectionSyndromes have a neuropsychoimmunological component.

The societal burdens placed on women, in addition to a general medical bias against women’s health issues, make small issues become big ones and make big issues ignored far too often.

Second, the age.

There’s a physiological shift in most humans near age 34. That shift may be causal to higher vulnerability to PIS.
