First, fibro, ME/CFS, and other #PostInfectionSyndromes have a neuropsychoimmunological component.
The societal burdens placed on women, in addition to a general medical bias against women’s health issues, make small issues become big ones and make big issues ignored far too often.
Second, the age.
There’s a physiological shift in most humans near age 34. That shift may be causal to higher vulnerability to PIS.
@DenisCOVIDinfoguy@auscovid19 Again, I ask, why aren't these people also screaming that we need to clean indoor air and that we should encourage everyone to wear masks!! How are they ok being reinfected and having worsening symptoms again and again?! The disconnect is astounding...
When I wear my N95, people will tell me to "stop living in fear" and "start living my life". "Things happen", "you cannot prevent illness and death".
That makes me wonder why they have a smoke detector in their home, they make sure to cook their food properly, they do not drink rain water, why they brush their teeth and wash their hands and wear a seatbelt in their cars.

Typically I get "Covid is over", or "You just have to eat healthy foods and exercise and take vitamins", or "I had Covid and I am fine", or "I don't know anyone with long Covid", or "It is the jab".
if it's a "women's issue," it can be shoved aside by a misogynist society that doesn't care if we can work or not
55-45% women vs men seems like the kind of gap explained by the different social pressures on men to keep working until they drop & not to acknowledge weakness...
