I was in the #QueensBlvdPBL with my (bakfiet) cargo bike, and some lady pulls her car about 20-30ft in front of me. Predicting what would happen next, I gave a wide berth as her passenger flung the door open just before I passed them.
I screamed "ASSHOLE" at the top of my lungs, scaring tf out of both of them. It felt good.
I absolutely despise these rumble strips on the #QueensBlvdPBL. They're at everysingle intersection, every mid-block crossing, and every car merge*. Feels like they're like every 200 feet for miles, and they rattle my brain every time no matter what speed I go over them. I've never before wanted suspension on my bike..
Drivers? Go as fast as you want (despite having a stop sign). Bikes? Whoa, slow down there Speedy Gonzalez (despite technically having the right of way)!
Writing a comment (asking once again for proper protection on the #QueensBlvdPBL) to #NYC#DOT, and the captcha wants me to check all the boxes with cars in them. Okay, a little on-the-nose for DOT, but sure, I can do that...
Wait, hold up. Computer: Enhance.
Is that a bunch of cars and motorcycles parked on a sidewalk? What is this, an #NYPD station?
Went to #vote today at #QueensBoroughHall and was pleased to see brand new bike lanes on #QueensBlvd! Not yet protected, and not yet finished (the connection between the old #QueensBlvdPBL and new bike lanes is confusing and awful), but a good start. #Queens#NYC#BikeNYC
This is the design #NYC DOT wants to do for the #QueensBlvdPBL when they do their big capital project, and it's going to suck even more than what we have now.
Huh. Are the PBLs on Northern Blvd/Broadway any good? Normally I'd take #QueensBlvdPBL/Skillman to get to #LIC, but just noticed that google maps suggests a slightly longer (by .1mi) but less hilly route. I know portions of broadway are still shitty (but then again so are portions of queens blvd).
