I was experimenting with the Quicktake protocol I documented in hopes of finding a way to turn its connection to 115kbps. Did not manage that but it looks like I managed to dump (part of?) its firmware! There are some funny/strange strings in it.
I got a few days off (it was GREAT) and meanwhile, @fozztexx tested QuickTake for Apple II on a wide range of Apple 2's. I have a little bit of hope it's going to work across the whole range now!
Oh, and also, preliminary #QuickTake 200 support!
I said I'd do a binary release if there was some interest, and @cquest is interested, so here it is after a full day's work, the first presentable release of Quicktake for Apple II!
(I love holidays)
VICTORY over the hardware! I connected the #Quicktake 100 to my #apple2!
It was quite difficult as the Quicktake only starts talking once DTR goes down - which is just an ioctl() on a modern PC, but shutdowns the ACIA 6551 on the Apple II.
I built a monstruous cable with a mini-DIN8 on one side and... two DIN-5 on the other. One of them does Rx/Tx, the other DTR.
I use the modem port for Rx/Tx and the printer port for DTR.
