#rodriguez#sugarman https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vMv9kjFp1gk
🎶Sugar man, won't you hurry cause I'm tired of these scenes. For a blue coin won't you bring back all those colors to my dreams 🎶 Silver magic ships you carry. Jumpers, coke, sweet mary jane. 🎶 Sugar MAAAN met a false friend on a lonely dusty road. Lost my heart when i found it, it had turned to dead black coal 🖤. Silver magic ships you carry. Jumpers, coke, sweet mary jane 🎶 Sugar MAAAN you're the answer that makes my questions disappear... 🎶#rip
“And you claim you got something going
Something you call unique
But I've seen your self-pity showing
As the tears rolled down your cheeks
Soon you know I'll leave you
And I'll never look behind
'Cause I was born for the purpose
That crucifies your mind”
Amongst his fans in South Africa, #Rodriguez was thought to be dead. Killed himself, dramatic suicide on stage, or something.
The documentary Searching for #SugarMan was just amazing. And sad. Clearly exploited by his managers, the discovery that he was, in fact, not dead, let him connect with the fans he didn't even know he had.
Today he died, 81 years old.
We can only wonder what his life would have been, had he not been kept hidden from his fame.
