I will give Twila Kilgore a very small amount of credit: this is a marginally more interesting lineup than Wednesday's. At least Murphy and Demelo get the start.
But it's still pretty damn boring. Does Twila really see herself as a total placeholder coach who should show no creativity whatsoever? Or does she think this is the way to advance?
Phew, that was a half! Definitely more energy than Thursday - I wonder how much of that is the swap of Sullivan for Savannah Demelo, who has been pressing all over the place, vs the anger at the chippy play from Colombia which wasn't getting called until the last 10 minutes of the half, vs sheer frustration at the state of the team.
Looking forward to seeing the final foul counts for the half.
Fishel and Shaw in for Morgan and Smith. Love this - Trinity was the most inspired of the front three, and is also the only one not playing next weekend.
Lindsey Horan takes a set piece straight to the GK. Can we try some different set piece takers, please? I don't hate Horan, but she's a solid target, and she's not so lights out she should be taking everything.
Colombia gets another good look on goal. I wonder if there's a strategy or player change that's made them so much more threatening this half.
More likely than that switching out the US forwards made such a difference. (It'd be one thing if it were Lynn and Trin taken out, but neither Smith or Morgan is known for their defensive work rate)
Coffey in for Demelo, who had a great game - really kept the US energy high from the beginning.
Huerta in for Dunn. Huerta's a RB, so Fox will move over to the left. Glad to see Fox getting some time at left back, where she plays for Racing Louisville.
Ooof. Thompson on the breakaway gets taken down by a Colombia player like this is American football. Nowhere near the ball, just bodies her. The ref goes for the yellow immediately.
