The last wooden bridge on Route 1 along the California coast, this is the Albion River Bridge. Built in 1944, when steel and concrete were scarce, it is constructed mostly of salvaged wood. One thousand feet long, it towers over the mouth of the river and Albion Flat Beach. Local residents have resisted efforts to replace the bridge, and a group called the Albion Bridge Stewards do a lot to keep the bridge in safe operating order. #PhotoMonday#FotoMontag#Photography#Fotografie#Bridge#Albion#River
