I'm planning an allsky cam project for the global meteor network - but as of now I don't have a definite place to host the box itself. I've contacted my school and as of now it's a maybe depending on whether the business manager or whatever decides to let me put it on the roof.
Would anyone in the Hobart or general Tas area be willing to host it? I'm very close to the hobart CBD and on a hill so it isn't quite the optimal conditions for astronomical thingies.
Set up a #RaspberryPi-based #allsky camera on the backyard for a first test and, by chance, there was super strong #aurora with auroral corona (at zenith, overhead) early on Monday morning. 🤯
Am 16. war ganz schön was los am Himmel. Zwei sehr helle Spuren.
Ich tippe bei der Süd nach Nord-Spur um 22:54:34 Uhr entweder auf ein Iridium Flare oder einen beachtlichen Meteor.
Die Aufnahme von 23:02:49 Uhr zeigt mit großer Sicherheit einen sehr hellen sich zerlegenden Meteor. #allsky#astrodon#meteor#iridiumflare

Wo hast du deine #allsky angebracht und wie kommt der Strom da hin?
Klappt das mit dem Heizring? Ich denke eher daran, die Raspi-/Kamera-abwärme durch das Gehäuse zu ventilieren? Wie ist die ganze Feuchtigkeit bei dir überhaupt ins Gehäuse gekommen?
