I just got an #Opticon L-22X #barcode scanner for next to nothing from the local flea market, it works perfectly in Linux. It was ridiculously easy to update the output format with their QRcode configuration. Now having fun reading barcodes everywhere.
Just saw someone post this online, and chuckled at their misguided attempt to hide their information. (barcode underneath your address can be used to precisely geolocate your address) #privacy#postage#barcode#cybersecurity#osint
So apparently the barcode is getting an upgrade in 2027.
"The EAN/UPC barcode [...] has offered price lookup functionality for decades. However, it’s no longer keeping up with today’s growing demands [...] In response, the global supply chain is moving toward two-dimensional (2D) barcodes that can carry more information."
Ça existe une app (si possible dans f-droid) qui permettrait de stocker les code-barres qui sont sur des cartes, par exemple de bibliothèque, pour pouvoir les présenter pour être scannées ?
No no no!
I dislike GS-1 for all sorts of reasons, and they even have the odd typo in their standards, but they do at least have standards.
It is no surprise they could not scan this at my wine dealer. #barcode
