Testing: If you can see this post, tell me how your day is going.
This is a test to see if threads on this mag are visible to Mastodon. If you see this, what's up? How are you holding up?

It looks like right now, you can view /kbin users and content from Misskey and Firefish instances, but not the other way around; I'm not able to view my accounts from either of those instances here on /kbin. From what I can tell, I can only view content from Mastodon and Pixelfed instances....

So I have thoughts about what if platforms that we seemly are trying to move away from such as Reddit decided to Fedirate and join the Fediverse....

I notice on a lot of mags, there is one or two people posting, and either 0, a handful, or quite a bit of upvotes, but no one is really engaging, most the time there are 0 comments....
Meta promised to make Threads compatible with W3C open standard for social media.
I've just seen a lot of post recently complaining what they see on their front pages such as news, politics, endless memes, etc. But you do know if any of those subs bother you or seem excessive, you can filter the subs so that they don't appear on your front page anymore. Filter memes and 196, and about 70 percent of the memes...
Calckey is making some big moves today, first rebranding as Firefish with a new logo, resetting their version to 1.0, and adding some interesting new features. As a Fediverse first, all Calckey.social users will be migrated to Firefish.social automatically. Not sure how that last bit will work, but we will find out soon!
I would like to suggest that developers consider as much flexibility when trying to interact with links/handles from off-instance and off-kbin (e.g. lemmy) as possible. I would like for it to work on lemmy in a similar fashion....
This is not an attempt to convert Lemmy users, nor is it a slight on Lemmy. I'm sure there are plenty of reasons why Lemmy works better for some, and I love the fact that we not only have multiple choices, but multiple choices that allow us to interact with each other regardless! It's amazing. Lemmy is great, no shade....
The antibody treatment donanemab slows clinical decline by around a third, a large trial confirms.
Our universe could be twice as old as current estimates, according to a new study that challenges the dominant cosmological model and sheds new light on the so-called "impossible early galaxy problem."
Before the whole Reddit migration I was passively aware of the Fediverse, I thought I somewhat grasped the concept, and had created a Mastodon account, but never really used it....
I wrote the first line of code for /kbin on January 14, 2021. Around this time, I started working remotely and decided that the time I used to spend commuting to the office would be devoted to /kbin. Throughout this entire period, /kbin has been a hobby project that I developed in my free time. It was also when Lemmy started...

I see a lot of posts on fediverse trashing reddit, Twitter, spez, musk and so on, and rightfully so. But like it or not, the mass majority of users on the internet still use these sites, and some of us still want to interact with the friends and communities we are a part of on those sites. And there's nothing wrong with that...
