If any of you own a Kinesis Advantage 360 & a 3D Printer, I've just uploaded my "wide bridge" to keep them separated farther than the one Kinesis provided. Also helps to keep them from slowly wandering around your desk as the day progresses.

Easy to snap on, and off. I've also included a model of the clips at the ends that hook on to the keyboard. That way you can easily make a wider / different one for yourself.

Question for the #hardware geeks.
Every night i take my mac to the living room, bring it back, and plug it in to power with the lid closed. Each morning I plug it into the monitor and open the lid.

Why is it that all of my #bluetooth devices (mouse & airpods) seem to be reconnected just fine, but my #Glove80 split keyboard, & the #Kinesis split keyboard refuse to. I have to restart bluetooth on the computer for them to be connected.

???

Well, it's taken me 3 months, but i finally cleaned the stuck key in my Advantage Pro 360. I must admit that I was so annoyed with the experience up to that point that I dragged my feet.

In the meantime I've been typing on the MoErgo . It's a very decent keyboard with a dramatically superior software experience, when it comes to customizing the layout.

However...

OMG I forgot the Advantage 360 didn't have a place for the !@#$!$@ escape key. putting it on the Capslock is 100% NOT a valid alternative in my book. In addition to killing my ability to use capslock it also absolutely screws me over every time I try and code on the laptop keyboard.

ARRGH. Why does it have to FEEL so good. Mother effing !@$#
WHY COULDN'T YOU JUST GIVE ME THE DAMN FUNCTION KEY ROW KINESIS⁉️

Does any geek out there who doesn't use Vim want to buy a Advantage 360 Pro? (not kidding)

I am NOT going back to a world where I am screwed every time I try and type on my laptop keyboard because of having to remap Escape to some stupid place on the Kinesis.

Ebay says > $400. How about $380 shipping included (in the US)?

Of all the #AWS services I've learned about so far #Kinesis is the one I have the least idea what I'm supposed to do with it.

It just moves #data around. Why would I need a service for that? I just use the network.

Why does this exist?

In the realm of ridiculous fancy keyboards I have (in order of acquisition):

They're all good keyboards, but its the Keyboardio that I think longingly about. It's the one I long to use every time I see a picture of someone's.

it's such a good keyboard for many physical & emotional reasons. BUT I derive a lot of value from having a "full" set of keys & not relying on "layers".

My came today. I instantly replaced the wired kinesis that I was using as a backup, swapped most of the keys for black ones, and started generating a custom keymap.

EVERYTHING about the process was nicer than the pro.

Now that I’ve got my custom keymap set up switching to it is surprisingly painless. AND I have more keys so i don't have to do stupid stuff with the escape key.

Although, it doesn't come with a capslock key cap which is...weird.

my keyboard layout. The heart of it is Dvorak, but there are minor changes to the locations of the non-core letters. Also F 3, F4, and F6 are missing.

update
my "n" key has stopped working.

Fortunately i keep old keyboards so I've switched back to the advantage 2.

It's still under warranty, and I'll get it fixed, but this is the straw that broke this camel's back. I'm ordering a Glove80

dan,

Love my Advantage 2, easily the best keyboard I ever owned. It's still going strong after 12 years of daily use

Moonlander, kinesis, ergodox, so many options for split keyboards - but not a single one with a built in trackpoint! Surely there must be a market for it... Hey Tex.com.tw - I love my shinobi, but would you please split it ergonomically down the middle for me, so that my back also loves it? #ergonomics #keyboard #shinobi #tex #kinesis #SplitKeyboards #splitkeyboard

I've added an update to my review of the Advantage 360 pro.
https://weblog.masukomi.org/2023/03/17/kinesis-advantage-360-pro-review/

I've appended it to the bottom, but the quick summary is that despite how good the Kinesis looks, you should buy the Mo Ergo Glove80 instead.
