I'm still pretty new to flying kites, just started doing it a bit last year when I bought a Quantum 2.0 in Kitty Hawk. I've been having trouble keeping that kite in the air here so I got a 4D Ultralite instead, and man does this thing rip!
Welp, I finally found my kite flyin' spot, and it is literally two blocks away from my house! I had the best flying session since I was at the Outer Banks. Next time I go out I think I'll bring my GoPro so y'all can see how fast this kite zooms. It's SO sensitive.
Disc golf, followed by a kite flying session this morning. I think I finally found my spot for flying kites in my hometown! My zero-wind lite kite did really well today, and it was a significant workout to boot.
I can’t wait to fly this thing! It’s SO light, and delicate, but it’s rated at 0-15MPH wind speeds. I love my Quantum but it’s really hard to keep that thing in the air at those speeds. If you had short enough lines, you could fly this in a gymnasium.
IT FREAKING WORKED! I had to make a single minor adjustment - the clip didn’t pinch hard enough. Nothing a cotter pin couldn’t fix! I’ll upload the video soon, but it is really…REALLY stable. I’m positively thrilled by the result!
I mounted a camera to my kite, flew the kite, and successfully got some cool sunset footage at my campground. This talks about the trial-and-error getting there. It shows the footage, too!
