Anyone recommend any chess games for beginners that will run on Linux? Trying to learn, and it seems when I google chess for Linux it comes up with these complicated installs the require chess engines and shit.. I just want a stand alone game that is good for beginners.
Any #LinuxGamers using #Fedora or thinking of trying it? I wrote up a guide for quickly setting up a fresh install for #gaming, and I've made sure to include steps for configuring your system for an #Nvidia#GPU. It even covers #RGB, and all the commands are copy + paste friendly. 😃
Spurred by the move to non-proprietary software I swapped out my Windows 11 for Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, and now 3 out of the 4 games I regularly play don't work well enough to play. I haven't checked games I only play occasionally, but I expect issues there too......
@dryak Well, @EU_Commission, I think a lot of #linuxgamers would be seriously interested if you could clarify the language: does "right to (...) play them on any device using any operating system." includes #Linux (e.g. SteamOS on a #Steamdeck, or #Ubuntu on a laptop +/- an extra layer such as Wine or Proton)?
If that's the case that would awesome for supporting operating systems diversity (and open-source in general).
New install - Help, 3 out of my 4 regularly played games aren't working!
