Dear internet please get someone to do a reported piece on the Grace Hopper conference disaster about how that was a failure of event management bc holy shit was that a failure of event management
@kissane
I've been involved in the planning and execution of #Otakon for a little over a decade now. We hit 42k registered attendees last year. Crowd control is the most fundamental thing we are responsible for. Back when I was in a senior position (COO), I had to take an online class in crowd management. It spent a lot of time drilling in that if you do crowd control badly people die. If there is widespread pushing and shoving you need to shutdown and get people out. @JMMaok
I legit thought Otakon would see a dip in attendance due to Anime Next being held this year... Nope I was wrong... They broke last years record, and hit 42k attendees
Macross Shooting Insight, new shmup game. Switches between different orientations (horizontal, vertical, more). Original story set in the M7 era with different famous characters space-time-folded in. Conspicuously I don't see anything from original Macross. Playable in the video game room at #Otakon
#Otakon2023 is one week away and I am so hyped. I didn't get to see much last year. This year I'm back to staying downtown and ready to hang out with @ScottSpaziani and @PerfectSerenad3!
They have more entrances this year, so hope that means less of a line clusterfuck like last year lol
