#writerscoffeeclub 17/05/2024 Other than writing drawing, what's your go-to creative outlet
I voluntarily concentrate only on one artistic expression. I believe that in order to reach the quality I want, I must dedicate all my time and energy on becoming a better comic artist.
I was introduced to her through Gekkou because it was the theme song of Trick. Haven't checked in in a while, so this was an opportunity to update and check out recent years songs too. Glad to see she's still active!
One of my favorite genres of music is the mix of japanese pop and rock with goth elements and aesthetics. My favorite artist in this specific kind of genre is Ali Project, a band that already started in the late 80s or early 90s if we only count the music under that name.
In comparison, the old song I picked is rather new, even if it's ~12 years old. It's my favorite song and was released on the 2011 album Queendom.
I'm going to go with a prolific and iconic artist that I'm getting more into lately, LiSA. From Sword Art Online openings to the Japanese theme of the latest Spiderverse movie; her star has only continued to rise!
It's #JMusicFriday this week with another theme by @jessica which will be #ThenAndNow so two songs from the same artist, but one must be an older song from them and the other new or released near to retirement of the band. Show me what you got! My pick for this will be Man with a Mission.
Can't let #KpopMonday with the theme #ThenAndNow slip by without posting some #GIDLE . Self-produced #queens that always surprise with new concepts and a message.
Stray Kids debuted on my birthday in 2018 with District 9 - clearly a sign that I was meant to become Stay! They've been going hard right from the beginning and I just looove their sound (not everyone will, of course).
It's still Monday in my part of the world, so I'm chiming in for this round of #KPopMonday, theme #ThenAndNow!
My artist of choice this week is #NCTDream. When they debuted, Dream members were babies. I can't even watch their debut MV because I'm so overcome by how tiny Jisung was (14 years old!!!). It brings me joy to see how well they've grown up.
Seriously .. 20mins left to post the #BTS post for #KPopMonday#ThenAndNow before Zero O'Clock. I'm going to have to do it aren't I?! 😂
So, for 'Then' rather than the obvious I'm sharing 'We Are Bulletproof Pt.2' from their Debut album '2 Cool 4 Skool' because it's perfectly fierce and I love it.
For #KpopMonday theme #ThenAndNow I'm going to go with my ult, who hasn't officially debuted as a soloist, just in groups, but has released solo songs:
Ten - New Heroes (technically Dream in a Dream was first, but that was more performance/dance and New Heroes is a full song) https://youtu.be/VM-g_bkFdzo
Since I have the space, I'll add on, Suran has a distinct vocal style that probably explains why she's not as well known, despite all her OSTs. She's amazing and after seeing her collab with Taeyong (NCT), I'd love to see her team up with some more pop powerhouses. 💙
Yaaay excited to see our new #KPopMonday hashtag adding to the Fedi Music fun.
This week's theme is #ThenAndNow and although she's a KRap/Kpop artist, I'm going with Lee Young Ji, because she's one of my girl crushes, & I love how she moves between genres.
'Then' .. her winning track from 'High School Rapper' - Go High with Wonjae Woo & Changmo

...when all the girls had was a broke agency & pirated production software LMAO
Bonus: The unexpected success of "Latata" led to multiple dancebreaks on music shows & remixes at the year-end festivals. Here's their performance at MBC Gayo 2018: https://youtu.be/4CwByRG0E-8

(From Music Core during their 2nd week of promos, which really captured early 2000s era club/party gear!)
