@voyager the Echo has been prime clickbait peddlers for ages now. It annoys me because I'd genuinely like to keep up with closed season going ons but sifting through the shite they print is a job in itself.
I'm binge listening to Uncanny - a podcast on BBC Sounds.
If you like a good spooky tale it's worth a listen. Personally, I don't believe a word of it but they're interesting stories nonetheless.
While looking for something at the hardware store, we parked the cart and wandered a few feet away. And in doing so, managed to have two(!!) shopping carts swiped from us. The first was still empty, so I can’t be too upset. But someone took the time to unload a half dozen items from the second in order to abscond with it. I’m more amazed than angry, but my daughter is exactly the opposite. 😤🤬
@mlawton for the first 10 mins Gakpo and Nunez looked like they had an intuitive thing going on. That, unfortunately, tailed off as the team performance did. I agree about Jota too. Partly this performance stands out because this has been an amazingly good season overall.
@mlawton over performing for a team that had lost so much experience over the summer though? I'm not sure any of us would have expected the season to be how it is with so many players coming in, lengthy injuries to the more experienced players and the academy youngsters getting thrown in in important games. This, maybe, explains things a little.
I just successfully helped with advanced chemistry homework -- not because I remembered any chemistry, mind you, but because I was calm, employed a bit of logic, and know how to search online.
I'm sure the kids hate having a dad who remembers nothing, knows nothing, and yet somehow calmly and swiftly solves their problems and scuttles their rage in under 5 minutes.
@sebastianhahn@mlawton I'm going through a similar experience, except with GCSE level subjects, at the moment. I'm surprised by how much I remember and also how much I've forgotten since my O Levels. I quite enjoy it if I'm honest.
A decent enough first half for #lfc all told. Plenty of desire to go forward and MacAllister is shining again. I'm not going to comment on the officiating (plenty of others are doing a good job of expressing their opinions) other than to say the flow of the game is disrupted at times. #Klopp 🧙♂️ to work his magic during the break
@mlawton this season I've been determined to enjoy the games regardless. Nothing I do will alter a decision so I'm going to celebrate the goals and feel happy with the wins.
Today has been amazing. This morning, I got to cheer on my son in his varsity debut, the first of two games. We weren't sure what to expect for playing time, but he got in for a third of the game and looked good.
Then, home to see my beloved Liverpool FC score a dramatic late winner. Let's go!
Then back out for the second varsity game. My son played half the game or better, looked excellent and scored a stoppage time game-tying goal. I'm not ashamed to say, I cried tears of joy. Let's go!!!
