[image] Both cars fit the same amount of people (feddit.de)

Honestly this is absurd. These death machines shouldn’t be legal in europe. That thing doesn’t even fit in the parking space, even though the parking lot has the biggest spaces in the whole city. The Golf Polo is so small in comparison, it could even hide in front of the engine hood of the truck....

AlternatePersonMan,

I mean… No. They do not. The car fits 4 tiny people.

I’m 6’4. I drove tiny sedans for years, for all the reasons you’d think. It was physically painful for me. I finally couldn’t do it anymore. In no way would my tall family fit in that tiny car.

Are trucks way too big? Yes. Should public transport be easily accessible and prioritized? Absolutely. Is the seating in those vehicles the same. Not at all.

AlternatePersonMan,

With anyone in the back? Because I drove a Jetta for years, which has a surprisingly spacious front seat. Unfortunately, unless your legs were two dimensional, you did not fit behind me.

AlternatePersonMan,

I didn’t say you need a truck, or that I’m average. But comparing the space inside these two vehicles as equal is just not true.

AlternatePersonMan,

I often wonder how basketball players drive sports cars. Maybe from the back seat?

Anyway, no. When friends ask if they should buy the same vehicle, I tell them to get a smaller one if they fit. Cheaper gas, maintenance, and easier to park…That or buy an RV.

AlternatePersonMan,

But how would they sell more smoke detectors that way?

AlternatePersonMan,

It’s crazy that he isn’t in prison for this level of corruption. Crazier that he is still actively serving on the highest court in the U.S. His corrupt decisions are actively screwing us.

If these are the bribes that can prove, how many more has he taken that we can’t?

AlternatePersonMan,

The real question is, what were they doing with the data during that time? Did some it disappear?

AlternatePersonMan,

Billionaires never seem to get in trouble, so I won’t hold my breath.

There’s a bunch of information that’s essentially public, which can be pieced back together. My concerned would be the potentially damning private messages and drafts that cannot be recovered.

AlternatePersonMan,

Eesh. That video is damning. I don’t even watch soccer/futbol and that’s pretty egregious in the replay. She pushed off her back, then stepped on it… Not an accident

AlternatePersonMan,

That’s just bad PR. I can’t imagine the potential profits are worth the risk.

AlternatePersonMan,

Alright, no one has said it yet. People’s view of how the economy is often strongly related to their political party. So it wouldn’t surprise me if half of people always believe the economy is getting worse.

AlternatePersonMan,

“That’s just locker room talk.” Also, Jesus and Christian values… while electing literal villains.

AlternatePersonMan,

I mean, sort of. Is the economy determined by one person? No. An entire administration, however, definitely has some sway. Interest rates, public projects, regulations (or lack of), so subsidies, those things all have an effect. It’s a very complex system with plenty of luck and unknowns that don’t change like a light switch just because a new guy was elected.

Still, look at the economies under Clinton, Obama, and Biden, then compare those to Bush, Bush, and Trump. That’s either quite the coincidence, or the person running the show does matter.

AlternatePersonMan,

Can you imagine how many problems simple term limits would fix?

AlternatePersonMan,

They are already openly corrupt. Term limits would result in younger candidates in touch with this century. Lobbyists would also have to bribe new people. It might also break up the ridiculous 100% party voting.

Not to mention help with our Supreme Court problems. Randomly giving appointments that last decades to whoever is president in at the time is insane.

I really don’t think we have that many competent elected officials anyway.

Yes, eliminating gerrymandering and citizens united would be more effective, but I wouldn’t kick term limits out of bed.

AlternatePersonMan,

They actually just passed ranked choice voting in my city.

It does seem crazy to have a system where 49% of people preferred the other guy, but he lost so those people now get zero representation.

AlternatePersonMan,

I can’t fathom having the power to save our at least change millions of lives…but instead choose to leech more wealth from the people that need it most. And systematically make the world worse. It’s a sickness.

There are no good billionaires.

AlternatePersonMan,

…and there goes my eagerness to buy the Q3. I loathe drm.

AlternatePersonMan,

I can’t fathom that anybody could be this stupid. Does he have a reason to purposely destroy Twitter?

The decisions he’s making aren’t just bad, they’re the worst possible ones that he could make. As in, he gathered a group of experts and these are the best ways to destroy Twitter that they could think up.

AlternatePersonMan,

Often enough I hear people say that it’s good to spend that much on our military. “That way no one will mess with us.” That logic hurts my brain. We spend more than the next TEN countries combined. We could halve our budget and still have a ridiculously large military.

We argue about the cost of a stadium (rightfully), then pay them off for 25+ years, and those cost ONE billion (versus $880 billion). An annual per Capita hit of $2,200 is crazy.

Also, we don’t even use a significant portion of the equipment that we build. There are thousands of tanks just collecting dust. “But they create jobs.” Build something else. Schools, parks, trains, housing, etc.
