Glasgow - English

Glesga - Lallan Scots

Glasgcu - Scots Gaelic (traditional spelling)

Glasgy - Scots Gaelic (English spelling)

(the last two being pronounced the same btw...)

Even more interesting, the the name itself doesn't derive from any of these languages, rather it's Brythonic in origin, or, in other words, related to modern Welsh. This makes perfect sense if you know how Scotland was formed. The ancient Britons were divided into three parts by the English invasion, one part in Wales, one part in Cornwall, and one part, called the Hen Ogledd, or Old North, in what is now southern Scotland. (So no, lowland Scots are not English in any way. 🙄)

Scotland itself was formed as a tribal alliance which united tribes from four different ethnic groups into a political alliance, which, through the process of ethnogenesis became the nation of Scotland. Besides the Brythonic tribes of the Hen Ogledd this included the Pictish tribes of the Highlands, and various Irish and Scandinavian groups that settled around the peripheries of what is now Scotland.
