So Sumar’s (Spanish party) politicians will apparently be distributed across both The Left and the Greens European parties. Presumably an image maneuver, since joining an European party usually doesn’t bind your vote, and Spanish green parties usually get integrated in leftist electoral options anyway.
Sumar is a mix of several parties, a coalition. Also, the first of the list is an independent person. Not all the parties compounding Sumar are integrated in the left or the greens. The first of the list, the independent one, will go to the left. Second and third on the list, will go to the greens, and the fourth one, from a party that is not integrated in the greens but in the left, will go to the left if elected. That is because Sumar is a coalition, several groups and parties got together for the elections. Representatives from each party can choose where group to go.
Everything seems to be fine: I had to reload in all the apps and on the desktop. Just a thing, when using the phothon UI I had to manually delete my old session and open a new one with my account, because when I log on again there were two sessions for my account.
I use it. When I changed my smartphone and my tablet I searched for models with headphones jack. I have a pair of wireles headphones but the sound they produce is terrible, and besides they need to be recharged, so you can find yourself with no battery on them on the middle of a commute, trip or whatever place. I have two pair of JBL cable headphones that costed 10 euros each (way cheaper than the wireless), sound is perfect, never run out of “battery”… Why would I prefer more expensive ones with poor sound quality and ones that I don’t know if they are going to be able to be in use for the time I need them???
Commute is part of the work day, but unpaid. In fact, avoiding commutes in big cities are one of the main advantages of remote work. In some cases, it is nearly, or even more, two hours back and forth an office or a plant. If people could go to the irs jobs just with a 15-20 minutes walk, it would be a very different issue, but mainly is an hour of traffice jams or packed metros and buses.
If commute should was part of the daily hours, we would see employers preoccupied because there would be people working 6 hours or less in the office or the plant, so they would ask for better transit systems and more affordable housing that implied nota having to go to live 40-50 km away because prices are unpayable nearer. Many of them would allow remote work more easily.
I have worked as a freelance for around 14 years, from home. My husband, a developer, always had told me that he couldn,t work without his colleagues around. Then the pandemic come and he had to work from home for more than two years. He loved it. No distractions, no commuting (I think that is the worst), better environment to concentrate in silence....he didn,t want to go back to an office. Like never ever.
But then the company he worked for said that everybody had to go back to the office because that is what's the company wanted. My husband and the rest of his department got very angry. In three months, all the 10 people in it had gone to other remote works. The day my husband said he was leaving in three weeks was the last day of his immediate boss. So he gave notice to a higher boss, that had a big tantrum because he thought it was a workers plot.
It wasn,t, but seems that nobody has to be forced into the office if they can do better work elsewhere. Because they leave if they can. As a consequence they lost all their senior developers and two middle managers. My husband now is happy, works from home and travels to the office for meetings and things like that a two or three days every three months. He works for a big international company with people in remote in several countries. His prior company is struggling really hard to finde people to work for them. It is up to them: expert people on remote or junior people wanting experience to go remote later on other job.
In Reddit I lurked during five years until I felt confident enough to post again after bad experiences with my two first posts (in a stationery subreddit, nothing too complicated). And I only did it in Spanish subs because they did not fried you with negatives. The Karma thing.
Here I started to post two hours after creating my account.
Spez must leave. Meanwhile, the ones leaving are the ones that create the content that gives them visits and money. Very good decisions, yes. What a shame, Aaron Swartz would be shocked and furious, no doubt!
Thank you for the answer. It then may be because they have a ton of petitions and want to approve each one of them manually. Yes, they appear among my suscribed communities, so it may be a bug or that they have restricted membership by now.
Not that sure. Maybe a big chunk of it are, but there is a lot of people like me coming from reddit that signed yesterday, after doing some research and watching how things were here and on kbin.
Regarding the bots issues, new signups at lemmy.world were closed yesterday for several hours because of attempts to create spammy accounts. So maybe a mix of real accounts and spammy ones.
So some spam signups just happened (all username12345678@gmail.com format e-mail) This caused bounced mail to increase, causing Mailgun to block our domain to prevent it getting blacklisted....
I was trying to open my account just when it was closed earlier. When I pressed the button to create it I only got and enless "charging" animation. But when it reopened again, I just started the process again, and was as easy as a breeze and extemely fast. Glad to be here! (and this is my firts post)
