Am Rhein ging es zurück.
In der Zwischenzeit kam eine Mail: "Deine Fahrt von Krefeld Oppum Bf Nord hat um 11:07 Uhr begonnen und um 11:30 Uhr am Ort DU-Hbf Osteingang geendet. Der Preis beträgt für die Fahrt 5,75 €".
Das kommt mir recht günstig vor. Ich hatte Fahrrad angeklickt, ob es nicht genommen wurde?! 🧐
Jetzt eine kurze Pause bei Beans & Sweets in Uerdingen, bevor es heim geht. Bei ostfriesischen Windverhältnissen ist/war das heute eine ziemliche Tour de Force.
Dennoch schön 😍

Wiesen und dann Industrie. Dazwischen ist - nicht wirklich sichtbar - der Rhein.

Aufzug auf dem Gleis 6 in Duisburg defekt. Schaffner gefragt. "Wenden Sie sich an die Info." Info angerufen.
"Tja, müssen Sie das Rad halt runtertragen."
"Danke für nichts."
Mir hat dann eine nette, junge Frau geholfen (während ihr Typ stumpf daneben stand).
Jetzt kann es losgehen.

Ich hab echt schon viel gesehen, aber diese Raststätte bietet NUR Fleisch. In unglaublichen Größen und Mengen. Auf Ratschlag eines anderen Reisenden versuchte ich es an der nächsten Autobahnausfahrt (Nottuln). Woo hoo, hier wurde mir ein Käsebrötchen frisch belegt 🥳


I've seen a lot, but this service area offers ONLY meat. In unbelievable sizes and quantities. On the advice of a fellow traveller, I tried the next motorway exit. Woo hoo, there I got a freshly made cheese roll 🥳

    Zum ersten Mal finnischen Rye-Whisky probiert. Ein Erlebnis! Ganz anders, ganz neu für meinen Gaumen. Zwei der vier sind super, die anderen beiden ein heftiges Geschmackserlebnis. Wow!

    
Tasted Finnish Rye whisky for the first time. An experience! Completely different, completely new to my palate. Two of the four are super, the other two are a fierce taste experience. Wow!

    Just received notification that the material for my new kilt has arrived at the kiltmakers. Margaret will be starting work soon. I'm excited.

    The tartan is MacDonald/MacDonnell Glengarry Ancient. It is very colourful. 😃

    I've taken out a VPS from Ionos (formerly 1and1). It has 1 vCore, 1 GB RAM, 10GB SSD, unlimited traffic, root access, and a choice of distros, including Debian, Ubuntu & CentOS. Plesk is also offered free, but, I've not used it.

    All for the ridiculously cheap price of £1 (£1.20 incl. VAT) per month. At this price it would be rude not to test it, which is what I'm doing.

    The spec is limited, but, I can think of hundreds of uses at this price point.
