Been using Mint for the past 4 years. Got my son his first phone this year and got him a Mint plan too which I manage through my account. We both have 5GB month plans which costs $360 a year for both. I work from home so don't need anymore data than that. I barely use 2GB per month. When he's in school all day, he doesn't use his phone much either, so it works out , but I'm sure he could use more than 5GB if he had it.
Mint has been pretty solid. No major issues either with setting up or daily usage. I'm totally satisfied. I was paying $100 a month just for myself prior to moving to Mint from Verizon. I've saved thousands since.
I got a Big Fudge kit with the velvet brush and I got to say its the best so far after 2 kits with cloths that just seem to get dirty too quickly. I think the cloths must put the dirt into other grooves of the records where as the velvet brushes just brush the dirt along the top of it and out the record....
I use a homemade cleaning solution. Distilled water/isopropyl alcohol and a couple drops of dish soap in a spray bottle. Then scrub the albums with a soft bristle brush and rinse them off in the sink. Dry them off with a microfiber cloth
There is apparently a phenomenon in the US now, where parents drive to the school individually to pick up and drop off their children at the beginning and end of the day. Some people I work with even take time off from working to do this. When the parents descend on the school each day there's insane traffic, cars lined up for...
My son's school charges $630 per year to ride the bus. And that is a public school. I still pay for it though, because, 1. I'm not going to spend my time sitting in a line cars every day. Not to mention take time off from work to do it. 2. I want him to experience life. It's a great place for socialization
Not sure what school your kids go to, that's type of stuff isn't an issue for mine. I'm sure things do happen, but that's part of growing up and learning. It's called life
Made these record album stands. Wanted something where someone could stand there and flip through them instead of having them slotted in sideways where people have to pull them out to look at them. There's a other one on the other side.
Since the reason so many people moved because of the third-party app changes, wouldn't it make sense for a Lemmy app to be made. Obviously not yet since the developers are already under a lot of stress with the amount of new users Lemmy is gaining....
I'm looking for a nice shoe to replace my current Asics Gel -Keyano 27s. I basically wear these shoes for everything from long walks to yard work. They served me well, but it's time for a new pair as these are worn out....
I'd say it counts. Funny how not too long ago if someone even mentioned this topic they would be considered a complete lunatic. But just the fact that a story like this gets reported in the MSM, is telling.
I'm not really into the subject, but just yesterday caught a documentary about an incident in Varginha Brazil that happened in the 90's. Pretty compelling stuff actually.
I just want to find communities for things that interest me. Politics isn't one of them, but I understand that this is a new thing and that it will take some time. General interest communities will eventually be just as big here as they were at reddit. Besides, if there's a community that pops up on feed that I don't want to see, I'll just block it. No big
"And even outright porn is getting harder to find"
Haha. What? It's never been easier to access free porn since the Internet began. There are tons of free porn sites on the net. Why do you need social media sites for that kind of content? Don't those sites have their own forums and comment sections too?
Used Waterfox and Vivaldi for a while, but had to go back to Chromium. My daily driver is an old HP mini PC running the latest Linux Mint. Both Waterfox and Vivaldi seemed ok at first, but after a while, things just got too slow and both just seemed not to function as they should. Could just be that my machine is too old to keep up, but chromium runs fine.
We all know about how Reddit closed-sourced back in 2017 and will be killing off third-party apps this July, what will Lemmy.ml do to avoid facing the same fate? Reddit started off like this (open, aiming for freedom) and it all went downhill from there.
This is how it always goes. Hate saying always, but I can't think of one instance where a public company made a move to improve something for their customers out of the goodness of their heart. It's always about the money.
I often think about stellar albums. The ones where they're really isn't a skip-able track. Off the top of my head, these come to mind: The Beach Boys Pet Sounds, Collective Soul Collective Soul (blue album), Bush 16 Stone, and Green Day Dookie. What are some of your perfect albums?
Hey all. Since the Internet has just been boiled down to the main big social media sites, it feels like the magic is gone. Whens the last time someone said to you "hey check out this cool website"? It's always the same: TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, FB, Reddit, Discord. Forums are basically dead. Chat rooms are dead. Message...
There's many reasons why the old web nearly disappeared, but I think the main two are cell phones and social media. Combine those two things with giant corporations trying to monetize everything and this is where we end up. The old internet was awesome.
Who is your current service provider? What do you think of them?
As this community is just getting started, I thought it could be fun to see what people are using today....
What Do you all use to clean your records and players ?

Sorting comments?
Is there a way to sort comments? They appear newest to oldest by default and I can't see an obvious way to change that.
