You can, and should, save-scum as much as you like in single-player games. You should be allowed to try and fail as many times as you like. You should be allowed to load if you get an outcome you don't like. You should be allowed to try different approaches, and not feel bad about "breaking" the game or something. You should be allowed to choose the fun you have.

Yes, there are some games which doesn't allow this, and where the challenge is "part of the fun". I'm not talking about those. I'm definitely against it when that attitude starts bleeding into all games, though.

Okay. So... I mentioned last night that I will probably not finish the long-form YT video this year. I watched what I have this morning, and I've officially decided that this... goes to the bin. Unfortunately, as much as I'd like to believe in it, the conversation has moved on from the topic I chose, and while the work certainly won't be lost, I don't think this is relevant anymore.

Instead, I'll open up a conversation. I am happy to once again throw this question to you, and ask if any of these topics below speak to you, and if you'd be exceptionally kind, you can even reply to me and tell me why.

Okay, so I've been doing games for a while now, but I'd like to hear from you: What sort of content would you be interested in seeing from me going into the future? I look forward to hearing from you, so to make it easier, here's a poll! You should be able to select multiple answers. (This isn't an "Oh, vote for this and I'm switching everything to it" kind of question. I really just like to know what you'd be interested in seeing, because frankly, we all have limited time, and I'd like to make the time you choose to spend watching my stuff as awesome as possible.)

People always go on about the KT extinction event and the utterly catastrophic impact the asteroid had. However, my "favourite" (horrible as it is to call it that) (not-exactly) extinction event has instead become the Great Oxygenation Event, where 80% of life on earth flat out died and the planet became terraformed (heh) because some stupid-ass bacterium learned to eat the sun really, REALLY well.

Not just the inhabitants, but the planet itself, the very composition of its atmosphere and just about all the rules changed as these bacteria slowly poisoned the air and rusted the oceans. It's... frankly mind-blowing the scale of it all.

And today it's just considered a super ordinary, rather unremarkable thing that there is a stupid amount of oxygen floating around freely in our atmosphere.
