Hello, all.

Okay, I know that this wasn't the plan, but it's really for the best. I'm going to be taking the rest of this week off from streaming. I need the break. It has been far too rough a few weeks, I have some brainy stuff I need to deal with, and I need some time to get my mental state back in order. I'll be moving the Friday stuff along to next Friday, Monday we'll play some Terraria, and Wednesday doing Potionomics.

But this week won't do. Sorry about this.

This morning the cat woke me up at 4:44 AM. Why such a perfect sequence? I think it knew exactly what it was doing, and was timing it to the minute. It then woke me up again less than 12 minutes later. And again a few minutes after that. Then it didn't want me to go to sleep again.

It's 8 AM. I'm reaching for my third cup of coffee. The cat and I are not on good terms at the moment.

Okay! Icons successful! Sweet! Ended off early today. Tomorrow I'll be doing Potionomics, and on either Thursday or Friday I'll be doing the BIG REVEAL for the game I'm working on. Not so much development this week, as the game and its description. Where it is, how it looks, how it will play, and what I'm trying to achieve with this prototype.

Okay, this morning's programming, despite some interruptions, yielded some fruit. I now have a zoom that works, but needs improvement, and a navigation that is working, but needs improvement. The latter still needs quite a bit of work, to be honest, but is currently a temporary fix, so we'll see.

Honestly, one of the greatest things in Godot is there is almost always a comment under an instructional video or post for Godot 3 explaining how to do the same in Godot 4....

Used to be that I'd play indie games to tide me over between the releases of the major AAA games I wanted to play. Now, I'll occasionally play a AAA to tide me over between the indie games that I want to play.

I... may have made a bit of a mistake today. As usual, I started my day with some "game" "dev" stuff, and started implementing the new movement system for my character.

It... works.

Not only does it work, it's actually really cool! I mean, it is NOWHERE near done, not even close, but it's brought me a lot of hope for the future of this project, and I'm starting to see how the systems I designed in abstract will start fitting into this. I'm ALL THE EXCITEMENT.
There is another mountain or 600 left before it's where I want it to be, but I'm slowly moving towards it.

I'm going to get this into a sort-of workable state, then I'm going to move on towards getting as much of the background systems working up to where I can interact with them next.

And now I feel like I'm going to be preoccupied with this all day, and I've actually got a lot of work to do outside of this :(

Okay, for some reason I'm in terrible luck central today....

I'm going to stream in 15 minutes. Be warned ahead of time, though, that internet quality is currently severely degraded due to multiple under-sea cable faults, including some of the biggest cables providing internet here. The stream might not work.

The plus side is that these cables, unlike the other cable, can likely be repaired in the foreseeable future. The downside is that it can probably be repaired in weeks to months.
